Troop 700 is a Boy Scout Troop of the Maritime District in the Great Alaska Council, Located in beautiful Juneau. We are a unit of about 14 scouts, serving the youth of Juneau, Alaska. Our chartered organization is the Moose Lodge 700. We currently have 2 Scoutmasters Michael Coleman and Richard Ely.
Troop meetings are held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Parish Hall on Mondays at 9055 Atlin Dr. Juneau. Scouts should be in their Class A uniforms unless otherwise instructed for a particular meeting. Meetings begin at 7:17pm and ends at 8:47pm. Some evenings Scouts may remain after the meetings doing planning, individual instruction, or advancement. During the meetings, the Scouts work on skills, and Scouting and leadership skills. They also plan for upcoming trips by checking and organizing necessary equipment, planning menus and assigning chores. The meetings usually end with a game that is decided by and lead by one of the patrols. We meet every Monday unless it is Christmas. The Troop Committee meets the first Wednesday of the month. The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make moral and ethical choices over their lifetime by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. |
